ইংলিশ মিউজিশিয়ান জর্জ হ্যারিসনের গাওয়া “বাংলাদেশ” গানটি নির্মিত হয় ১৯৭০ সালের ভোলার ঘূর্ণিঝড় এবং ১৯৭১ সালের বাংলাদেশ মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় তৎকালীন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে আশ্রিত লক্ষাধিক শরণার্থীর মধ্যে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির জন্য। গানটি  ১৯৭১ সালের জুলাই  মাসে মুক্তি পায় একক নন-অ্যালবাম  হিসাবে। এই গানের জন্য হ্যারিসনকে অনুপ্রেরণা দিয়েছিলেন তার বাঙালি বন্ধু রবি শংকর।  তিনি হ্যারিসনের কাছে সেই সময়ের বাংলার অসহায় মানুষগুলির দুঃখকষ্ট লাঘবের জন্য  সাহায্যের অনুরোধ করেছিলেন। “বাংলাদেশ”  গানটি সঙ্গীত ইতিহাসে সামাজিকভাবে সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় গানের একটি।  এই  গানটির মাধ্যমে বিশ্বব্যাপী বাংলাদেশকে নব্য জাতিগোষ্ঠী হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক সমর্থন লাভের জন্য সহায়তা করে। ৩ মিনিট ৫৭ সেকেন্ড দীর্ঘ এই গানটি জর্জ হ্যারিসন নিজেই লিখেছলেন।

২। জোয়ান বায়েজের “দ্যা সং অফ বাংলাদেশ”(Joan Baez- The Song of Bangladesh)

জোয়ান বায়েজ ১৯৭১ সালে লিখেছিলেন “দ্যা স্টোরি অফ বাংলাদেশ”। এই গানটি নির্মিত হয়েছিল ১৯৭১ সালের ২৫শে মার্চ ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিরস্ত্র ও ঘুমন্ত বাঙালি ছাত্রছাত্রীদের উপর পাকিস্তানি সেনা অভিযানের উপর ভিত্তি করে, যা বাংলাদেশে দীর্ঘ ৯ মাসের  মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সূচনা করেছিল। এই গানটি পরবর্তীতে “বাংলাদেশের গান” শিরোনামে ১৯৭২ সালে চন্দোস মিউজিকের অ্যালবামে (Chandos Music) মুক্তি পায়।
